Warm puddings and smiling faces at Cobblestones Cafe in Grassington
After rambling around the Yorkshire Dales since ten in the morning, rummaging through charity shop rails and walking in fields, we were both in need of some cake. Luck would have it that upon walking into the village square at Grassington I noticed a tea room called Cobblestones Cafe and I immediately fell in love with its charming, homely exterior. The little door opened into a delightful room full of beaming faces and the smell of delicious food. We chose a table for two in the corner and ordered – warm chocolate fudge cake for my love and warm apple pie and custard for me. When the food came I was overwhelmed by the smell of cinnamon and apples and could tell I was going to enjoy the next ten minutes. As predicted, it turned out to be the best apple pie of my life!
